Leath brings the joy of gardening indoors. Founded in Greenpoint, Brooklyn by Alexine Pack and Alex Colodny, Leath has the simple goal to create deeply considered products for small apartment kitchens. Their flagship product, The Fieldhouse (Designed by Guerra Office), is a countertop microgreens growth system that allows people — even those without a green thumb — to grow intensely flavorful microgreens year-round. All the while sparking memories and experiences from the quiet contemplation of trimming your harvest to the vibrant fellowship of a dinner party with your closest friends and family.
Leath invited Two Are into the fold at the earliest stages of the brand to create the foundational Brand Identity system. Through a process of deep education and collaboration we created an identity for Leath that is rooted in nostalgia. We were inspired by touchstones as varied as Julia Child, Souvenir T-Shirts, Dieter Rams and Public Broadcast Television. The identity employs a vibrant and eclectic color palette, harkening back to the warm and offbeat hues of 1970’s kitchens. The logo is flowing and playful, inspired by the shape of Microgreens as they grow. The typography is a mix of all-caps, mid-century style headline type alongside a contemporary monospace type that highlights technology and details. All of this, combined with warm, inviting imagery and artful illustrations results in a brand that is both familiar and fresh.
